Brian Adler

From MTV to the Vancouver Canucks, Brian Adler has worked in front of the camera, and behind, for some of the biggest brands in North America. He has hosted more than 3000 interviews, 1000+ hours of national television and hundreds of live events. Behind the camera, Brian co-founded and managed two video production companies prior to Mom and Dad Productions, producing commercials, branded content and music videos. Brian has worked with powerhouse brands and bands including Best Buy, Telus, Audi, Tegan & Sara, Metric and Three Days Grace.

Starting out in Radio, Brian learned early on that storytelling was his thing.  He worked midnight to 6am at Rock 101 in Vancouver before taking over the Afternoon Drive show for 3 years on Victoria, BC’s “edgiest radio station”, Extreme 107.

In 2001 Brian moved to television as the senior host on MTV Canada’s flagship shows “Select” and “969”, winning Leo awards for “Best Host” and “Best Series” in the Lifestyle category. While hosting the MTV shows, Brian also was the music producer and became the senior producer for the series, crafting memorable stories with Avril Lavigne, Metallica and The Muppets while training for his “hobby-job”… professional wrestling.

Yes, you read that right, professional wrestling. Adler’s character was “The Plagerizer”, and his claim to fame involved dressing up like his opponents, entering the ring to their theme music and eventually ending the matches by using his opponents’ finishing moves against them. Storylines played out on MTV and culminated in a sold-out live event broadcast that Brian also co-produced.

In 2006, Brian co-founded two video production companies, one specializing in commercial production and the other in music videos. Adler managed a large creative team and oversaw production on more than 200 commercial / web projects and 100 music videos and marketing materials for the music industry. During this time Adler worked with artists including Gwen Stefani, Nickelback and Carly Rae Jepsen on the music side, and Yahoo! Sports, Tourism BC, BC Hydro and Virgin Radio brands commercially.

In 2012 / 2013 Brian Series Produced CITY TV’s “Beer Money” through Mom and Dad Productions, a 30-episode sports trivia game show.

Brian also joined the Vancouver Canucks as their In-Arena Host during the 2013 season, hosting interviews and playing games with the crowd during time outs and intermissions. Last month Adler hosted a special episode of “Canucks TV Presents” on Sportsnet.
